Daniel Gaustad, DC, RYT, SEP~ A Mindful Approach To Chiropractic & Somatic Experiencing ~
Starting in July, my partner, Jessa, and I will begin splitting time between Minneapolis and Northern California. I will be available for in-person appointments in Minneapolis approximately 1 1/2 to 2 weeks out of every month from that point forward. With my schedule set up this way, I hope that we can continue the rhythm and depth of our work together.
As my work expands more and more into the realm of nervous system regulation/resilience and accumulated stress/trauma resolution, if you are interested, I invite those of you who haven’t explored Somatic Experiencing with me to do so. I have found that Somatic Experiencing work, with its emphasis on how stress/trauma manifests in the body, can lead to a deeper resolution of physical symptoms.
Somatic Experiencing is very effective when working with medical and surgical traumas and pre- and peri-natal traumas. I have completed Peter Levine’s Eye of the Needle advanced training, which focuses on working with near death experiences, anesthesia states and medical traumas. I have also received additional training in Relational Development Rupture and Repair: A Somatic Developmental Perspective and Concussions and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
While in Minneapolis, I will continue to provide sessions that include chiropractic and/or acupuncture. I will also continue to provide individual, in-person Somatic Experiencing sessions. A 6-month Somatic Experiencing Men’s Group will begin this June. And, I plan to offer multi-night or day long workshops for all genders later this year.
For those wanting Somatic Experiencing sessions during times when I am not in Minneapolis, I will also be available to meet online over Zoom (a HIPAA compliant counterpart to Skype). These Zoom sessions work really well and are an excellent way for us to connect and maintain continuity in our work.
While in California, my professional focus will be on providing individual Somatic Experiencing sessions in-person and via Zoom, facilitating Somatic men’s groups and all gender groups and facilitating trauma and resiliency trainings. For my own learning, I look forward to being in close proximity to some of the most innovative teachers in the growing fields of somatic psychology, developmental psychology and trauma resolution.
I will also begin assisting with Somatic Experiencing trainings in California in January 2020. I’m really excited and honored to be a part of a teaching team. I am committed to not only deepening my understanding of Somatic Experiencing but also to refining my teaching skills. Patient/client education has always been an important part of my practice.
